Abu Dhabi, Sept. 13 (Petra) – His Majesty King Abdullah II and United
Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Sunday
held talks at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi, according to the Royal
Hashemite Court.

During the meeting, attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al
Hussein bin Abdullah II, the two leaders underscored the deep-rooted
ties between Jordan and the UAE, as well as their commitment to
strengthening cooperation across key sectors, particularly in the
economic, trade, and development fields, within the framework of the
Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.

The talks addressed recent regional developments, with both leaders
exchanging views on current events, in addition to reaffirming their
commitment to continued coordination and consultation to advance
security, stability, and peace across the region.

Speaking about the situation in the West Bank and Jerusalem, His
Majesty highlighted the gravity of Israeli measures aimed at annexing
land and expanding settlements in the West Bank, as well as
violations of Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign
Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa
Batayneh, and Jordan’s Ambassador to the UAE Majid Qatarneh attended
the talks.

From the Emirati side, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin
Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign
Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the
Presidential Court for Special Affairs Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin
Zayed Al Nahyan, and a number of officials attended the talks.

Earlier, the King was received at Al Bateen Executive Airport in Abu
Dhabi by Sheikh Mohamed and a number of senior officials, who were
also there to bid His Majesty farewell.
