Amman, Sept. 14 (Petra) – Jordan Source program, operating under the
Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, organized the
“Generational Buildathon” in cooperation with MENA AI and Replit,
with participation from the Crown Prince Foundation’s Youth
Engagement Program.

According to a ministry statement issued Monday, the one-day event
brought together participants from different generations and
professional backgrounds to develop functional software and
technology solutions using AI-powered development tools.

Participants were tasked with turning ideas into working products
within a limited time-frame, with the event focusing on practical
development rather than conventional presentations or discussion
sessions.

The partnership with MENA AI follows a Jordan Source investment
mission to the United Kingdom in October 2025, part of a series of
international engagements aimed at connecting Jordanian technology
talent with global companies and investors.

The Amman event marked the first implementation of that partnership
in Jordan and was designed to expand links between local talent and
international technology firms.

Jordan produces around 12,000 graduates in the information and
communications technology sector each year, while people under 30
account for nearly two-thirds of the population, according to the
ministry.

Jordan Source said it works to promote Jordanian technology talent
internationally, connect local professionals with global technology
companies, and attract partnerships and investment that could expand
employment opportunities inside and outside Jordan.

MENA AI founder Bassem Abu Naameh said discussions with Jordan Source
in London highlighted a focus on practical outcomes and Jordan’s pool
of technology talent. He added that participating teams were not only
learning to use AI tools but applying them to develop products and
solutions designed to compete in different markets.

Replit representative Amjad Sadiq said the event brought together
participants of different ages, backgrounds, and disciplines around a
shared focus on developing practical products.

He said Jordanian youth should play a role in developing technology
rather than merely consuming it, adding that Replit’s tools can help
shorten the process from idea to working product and enable locally
developed solutions to reach global markets.
