Amman, Sept. 14 (Petra) – The Center for Strategic Studies at the
University of Jordan, in cooperation with the Chinese Embassy in
Jordan, on Monday launched two strategic reports examining
Jordanian-Chinese and Arab-Chinese relations.

Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Guo Wei said the reports followed a
visit by four researchers to China, who documented their observations
through research-based analysis. He noted that the launch coincides
with the 70th anniversary of Arab-Chinese diplomatic relations and
comes ahead of the 50th anniversary of Jordanian-Chinese relations.

Guo said Arab countries and China share common interests and values
that have contributed to expanding trade ties.

He also highlighted His Majesty King Abdullah II’s recent visit to
China, describing it as an important milestone in bilateral
relations, and said Beijing remains committed to strengthening ties
with Jordan.

Former Prime Minister Adnan Badran called for continued follow-up on
the outcomes of the King’s visit and urged greater cooperation with
China in renewable energy and modern agriculture.

Senate Media and National Guidance Committee Chairman Mohammad
Daoudieh said the royal visit provided an opportunity to deepen
bilateral relations. He added that Chinese delegations are expected
to visit Jordan in the coming days, further expanding communication
between the two countries.

Daoudieh also pointed to broad alignment between Amman and Beijing on
support for the Palestinian cause and several other political issues.

Center Director Hassan Momani said preparation of the two reports
took 10 months and was aimed at establishing a research-based
reference framework on Jordanian-Chinese and Arab-Chinese relations.

He said the research builds on the King’s recent visit to China and
noted areas of common ground between Jordan and China, particularly
on political issues including the Palestinian cause.

Center researcher Tamara Zreiqat presented the main findings of the
report on Jordanian-Chinese relations, covering political and
economic dimensions.

Research Assistant Bilal Adailah reviewed the report on Arab-Chinese
relations, also focusing on political and economic aspects.

The seminar concluded with an open discussion on Jordanian-Chinese
relations and follow-up to the outcomes of the King’s recent visit to
China.
