Cairo, Sept. 14 (Petra) – Labor Minister Nidal Qatamin on Monday
pointed to the strategic value of the 52nd Arab Labor Conference amid
rapid economic shifts, technological progress, and digital impacts on
employment.

Qatamin told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that hosting the session
showcases Jordan’s commitment to advancing joint Arab labor and
employment policies.

He noted that continuous economic volatility requires closer Arab
cooperation and knowledge sharing to tackle emerging challenges and
capitalize on new technological opportunities.

The conference agenda covered pressing regional issues, including
sustainable economic growth, social justice, the impact of climate
change on workplace safety, and the growth of tech startups.

Qatamin expressed optimism that the conference will yield “actionable
recommendations” agreed upon by governments, employers, and workers.
He stressed that balancing economic competitiveness with social
fairness requires a unified approach.

Key priorities include aligning education and skills training with
real-world market demands to bridge the employment gap for youth. He
also advocated for leveraging technology and supporting a green
economy to create long-term jobs and build economic resilience.

Moving from diagnosis to implementation remains “vital,” Qatamin
added, stating that recommendations must translate into concrete
policies that support workers, employers, and Arab economies as a
whole.
