Amman, Sept. 24 (Petra) – The Jordan Heritage Revival Company (JHRC)
hosted a 13-member Russian media delegation on Thursday for an
educational tour of southern Jordan, representing major television
channels and news outlets.
The delegation explored the Renaissance Triangle, an interactive
cultural route connecting Aqaba, Wadi Rum, and Ma’an.
Developed and operated by JHRC, the trail weaves a continuous
narrative of key historical events that shaped the modern Jordanian
state, allowing visitors to experience history where it happened.
During the tour, the delegation visited the Al Sharif Hussein Bin Ali
House in Aqaba before heading to Wadi Rum for the Journey Through
1916 experience aboard the Great Arab Revolt train. The dramatic live
simulation incorporates horsemen, camel cavalry, period vehicles, and
sound effects, making passengers active participants in the historic
events.
Russian journalists hailed the tour’s dynamic presentation and
seamless integration of place and history.
JHRC CEO Muayyad Abu Rumman noted that the route links isolated
historic sites into a unified journey.
“Our goal is to transform these sites from standalone stops into an
interconnected experience,” Abu Rumman said. “Visitors learn the
story and then live it, starting from Al Sharif Hussein’s house in
Aqaba, traveling on the train in Wadi Rum, and concluding at the
Founding King’s Residence in Ma’an.”
Abu Rumman stressed the importance of the media visit in expanding
Jordan’s presence in the Russian market. He credited joint marketing
efforts by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Aqaba Special
Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), and Royal Jordanian Airlines.
“Integrating these efforts delivers authentic Jordanian experiences
that encourage longer stays and deeper exploration of the south,” he
added.
JHRC, a development initiative supported by the King Abdullah II Fund
for Development and ASEZA, creates and operates interactive heritage
experiences across the Kingdom. The company seeks to preserve local
history, engage visitors, and drive job creation and economic growth
in local communities.
