Amman, Oct. 8 (Petra) – Government on Thursday announced the details
for the upcoming Jordan-EU Investment Conference 2026, showcasing
over 40 high-value investment opportunities valued at more than USD15
billion.
During a press briefing, Government Communications Minister Mohammad
Momani and Investment Minister Tareq Abu Ghazaleh outlined the
conference’s primary pillars, objectives, and preparations to welcome
international business leaders, investors, and development finance
institutions.
Held under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II and
featuring European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, the
high-level summit will take place November 19 at the King Hussein Bin
Talal Convention Center at the Dead Sea, preceded by specialized
sectoral events on November 18.
Momani described the event as a “testament” to Jordan’s strategic
partnership with the EU and a “vote of confidence” in the Kingdom’s
business environment, noting the media’s “vital role” in showcasing
the economic impact of these investments on job creation and skills
development.
He added that the Ministries of Government Communications and
Investment would coordinate with journalists and facilitate
interviews with officials, investors, companies and financial
institutions to ensure comprehensive coverage.
In turn, Abu Ghazaleh noted that the conference seeks to convert
strategic ties into long-term investment partnerships, reinforcing
Jordan’s position as a stable regional investment hub.
Over 700 investors, decision-makers, and corporate leaders will
gather to negotiate commercial and financing details directly.
The conference focuses on 5 priority sectors:
– Technology: AI, cloud computing, software, data centers, and
semiconductors.
– Energy: Renewable energy, grid storage, green hydrogen, and
ammonia.
– High-value industries: Industrial partnerships, technology
transfer, and export expansion.
– Logistics and infrastructure: Strategic transport and railway
projects connecting regional markets.
– Water security: Advanced technologies and sustainable supply
projects.
Abu Ghazaleh added that the conference would showcase Jordanian
talent, particularly young professionals capable of applying
technology, delivering projects efficiently and developing innovative
solutions. He described human capital as a “key foundation” for
successful investments and sustainable growth.
He said the ultimate goal was to attract high-quality investments
that create jobs, transfer knowledge and technology, increase the
added value of Jordanian products and improve their competitiveness.
Follow-up efforts would continue after the conference to advance
investment opportunities toward negotiations, financing and
implementation.
The strategic partnership is backed by a 3 billion euro EU financial
package for 2025–2027, which includes 1.4 billion euros in additional
investments alongside concessional loans and grants.
