Amman, Oct. 8 (Petra) – The Ministry of Justice released on Thursday
its official statistics for last September, showcasing “significant”
milestones in digital transformation and judicial efficiency.
During the month, Jordan’s courts conducted 12,300 remote trial
sessions and archived roughly 3.7 million judicial documents.
Meanwhile, the ministry’s figures showed the notary public services
completed 28,400 total transactions, including 10,600 handled
remotely.
Additionally, officials completed 8,988 remote notary video
consultations and issued 1,639 electronic legal notices without
requiring in-person visits.
The ministry issued over 55,000 clean-record certificates, 52,000 in
Arabic and 3,250 in English.
Alternative penalties saw “steady” adoption, as authorities
implemented 213 alternative sentences to imprisonment, while
electronic monitoring bracelets were applied in two pre-trial
detention cases and 28 sentencing cases, according to ministry data.
E-services also experienced “strong” demand, recording 704 online
auction transactions, 373 legal aid requests, and four formal
requests under the Right to Information law.
