Two
Omani Films Secure Top Honours at Morocco’s Cedar International Short Film
Festival
Rabat,
11 Oct 2026 (ONA) — Two Omani filmmakers have been crowned with awards at the
conclusion of the current edition of the Cedar International Short Film
Festival (Festival du Cèdre du Film Court) in the city of Ifrane in the Kingdom
of Morocco, which was held from 8 to 11 October.
Director
Mohammed Al Ajmi won the Directing Award (jointly) for his film “Duhjan Al
Ward”, which offers a visually aesthetic documentation of the rose harvest
season in Al Jabal Al Akhdar. Director Mohammed Ali Al Doroshi was also crowned
with the Jury Award for his film “Ayn”, a humanitarian work shedding
light on the story of three young men with disabilities — one blind, one mute
and one deaf — brought together by a journey that reveals the depth of the
human bonds between them.
The
festival’s closing ceremony saw the jury announce the remainder of the
competition’s awards, with actor and director Louis receiving the festival’s
Grand Prize, and the festival president presenting the awards to the winners at
the close of the ceremony.
