Saudi Arabia’s Voluntary Carbon Market Fuels the Shift to a Low-Carbon
Baghdad, October 11 (QNA) – Prime Minister of Iraq Ali Faleh Al Zaidi and delegates from France’s TotalEnergies and US’s ConocoPhillips discussed on Sunday investment in oil and associated gas in Bin Umar field in Basra and production increase in other Iraqi fields.
The Iraqi PM Media Office stated that, in a meeting with Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies Patrick Pouyanne and President and CEO of ConocoPhillips Andy O’Brien, Al Zaidi discussed developing timelines to increase oil and associated gas production in Bin Umar field and work related to rising production in other fields.
Al Zaidi stressed the importance of investing in associated gas and benefiting from Iraq’s potential in this sector, noting of his government’s plans of fully profiting from locally produced gas and ending imports in the upcoming years.
On the other hand, Pouyanne and O’Brien expressed their companies’ desire to put further effort into committing to planned schedules for increasing production rates. (QNA)
