N. Korea Fires Multiple Ballistic Missiles Towards East Sea, Seoul Says

Seoul, October 12 (QNA) – North Korea fired multiple ballistic missiles towards the East Sea on Monday, South Korea’s military said, with the projectiles launched from the Pyongyang area and one traveling more than 900 km, according to the Yonhap News Agency.
South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said it detected the launches at around 9:20 am local time and that the military was maintaining heightened surveillance in coordination with the United States and Japan.
The launches came less than two weeks after North Korea fired a ballistic missile from the Wonsan area towards the East Sea on October 3.
North Korean state media reported the following day that leader Kim Jong Un had overseen the launch of an intermediate-range strategic missile as part of training for missile troops operating the country’s “hypersonic strategic weapon system.” (QNA)
