New York, Oct. 14 (Petra) — The United Nations reported on Wednesday
multiple airstrikes across Gaza over the past two days, alongside
shelling, demolition explosions, naval fire, and gunfire in all
governorates of the enclave, particularly in areas west of the
so-called “Yellow Line.”
Speaking at the daily press briefing, UN Deputy Spokesperson Farhan
Haq reiterated the vital necessity of protecting civilians and
civilian infrastructure at all times.
Quoting UN partners operating in the enclave, Haq noted that while
some critically needed humanitarian supplies have entered Gaza, they
remain insufficient to meet the population’s dire needs. Delivery
operations continue to face severe obstacles stemming from funding
shortages and Israeli restrictions.
These restrictions include bans on the activities of certain partner
organizations, entry limits on vital items such as engine oil and
spare parts, and access restrictions covering more than 64 percent of
the territory.
Meanwhile, the UN Human Rights Office in the West Bank reported that
Israeli forces raided the headquarters of Palestinian civil society
organizations and a medical complex in Ramallah on Tuesday, seizing
files and equipment and detaining several individuals.
