Khartoum (SUNA) – Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Professor Ahmed Modawi Musa said the university admission results for the 2026–2027 academic year were highly encouraging, with an increase in planned admission quotas, particularly in engineering and health sciences programmes. In a press statement, the minister said he handed over the university admission results for the 2026–2027 academic year to Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris after the results were approved by the Higher Admission Committee, which comprises university vice-chancellors and the General Administration of Admission. The meeting was attended by the Ministry’s Undersecretary, Dr. Ali Al-Sheikh Al-Samani, as well as a number of vice-chancellors and representatives of public and private universities. The minister explained that, following the announcement of the admission results, applications for the second admission round would open, followed by applications for vacant places. He added that scholarships would also be offered at private universities, with details to be announced at a later date. The meeting also reviewed ways to address the challenges facing higher education institutions, rehabilitate and rebuild universities, and support scientific research centres, enabling them to fulfil their role in achieving comprehensive and sustainable development across the country.BH/BH
