AMMAN, Oct. 15 (Petra) – The Ministry of Labor tracked down 28
domestic workers of various nationalities over recent days following
filed absconding reports, the ministry announced Thursday.
Ministry Spokesperson Mohammad Zyoud stated that labor inspection
units identified the violators during field operations, revealing
that their work and residency permits had expired–with some failing
to regularize their legal status for up to a decade.
Zyoud cautioned citizens and households against employing domestic
workers on an informal, daily, or hourly basis, stressing that
unauthorized employment practices constitute a direct breach of the
Labor Law.
