Irbid, Sept. 29 (Petra) — As part of the 10th International “Knights
and Knightesses of the Message” Conference held in Amman under the
title “Knights of Peace,” an Arab delegation comprising influential
figures visited the town of Kufr Soum in the Bani Kinanah District on
Tuesday to tour archaeological and tourist sites.

The visiting delegation, which included 150 media, academic,
parliamentary, cultural, and economic figures, as well as female
pioneers and influential personalities from several Arab countries,
began its tour with a visit to the Obeidat tribe’s diwan, where diwan
head Ahmad Obeidat welcomed the Arab delegation, affirming that
Jordan’s doors are open to brothers and friends and that such
gatherings transcend the occasion to become bridges for acquaintance
and cooperation.

Obeidat reviewed aspects of the region’s history and the sacrifices
and contributions its people have made to national development,
dwelling on the legacy of Sheikh Kaid Al-Mufleh Obeidat and his
standing in national memory.

He affirmed that Jordan, under its Hashemite leadership, has remained
a model for entrenching the values of peace, security, and safety,
and a message of moderation that unites rather than divides,
stressing that meeting Arab brothers in Jordan is a natural extension
of historical relations.

For his part, writer Mohammad Kanan from Palestine spoke about the
strength of Jordanian-Palestinian relations, praising Jordanian and
Hashemite positions in support of the Palestinian cause.

Kanan affirmed that Jordan and Palestine share inseparable historical
and human bonds and that such gatherings reinforce Arab unity of
conscience.

For her part, President of the Arab American Women Association
Kawthar Othman pointed to the messages of love and communication the
visit carries, praising the standing of Jordanian women and their
contributions across various fields and the Jordanian generosity the
delegation encountered.

The visit program included a tourist and cultural tour of several
historical and natural sites in the Bani Kinanah District and Irbid
Governorate, aimed at introducing guests to the beauty of the place
and Jordan’s historical and civilizational richness.

The tour also included visits to the Yarmouk Forest Nature Reserve,
the Umm Qais archaeological site, the Abila archaeological site, and
the site of the immortal Battle of Yarmouk, in a journey combining
natural beauty and the fragrance of history, offering guests a
picture of the tourism and cultural diversity that northern Jordan’s
regions abound in.
