Baghdad, August 11 (QNA) – Three Iraqi soldiers, including an officer, were wounded on Tuesday when an improvised explosive device targeted a security force in an agricultural area in Daquq district, south of Kirkuk province in northern Iraq.
A security source said the explosive device detonated as an Iraqi army patrol passed near Wadi Al-Shay, injuring three soldiers who were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Security forces cordoned off the blast site and began search and sweep operations in the surrounding area. They launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of the attack and identify those responsible for planting the explosive device.
Security forces are continuing their operations in the agricultural and remote areas surrounding Daquq district to pursue ISIS cells and prevent them from exploiting the region’s terrain to carry out attacks targeting security forces. (QNA)
