35 killed in Syria bus collision

Amman, July 25 (Petra) – Thirty-five people were killed and 30
injured on Saturday in a bus collision on the Damascus-Deir ez-Zor
highway, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.

The crash occurred when a bus collided with another vehicle between
Al-Sukhnah and Palmyra on the road, which connects eastern Syria to
the capital, it said.

The Ministry of Defense dispatched helicopters to the scene to
evacuate the injured and deceased to the Homs Military Hospital, the
agency said.

Dr. Najib Al-Naasan, Director of the Ambulance and Emergency
Directorate at the Ministry of Health, confirmed the number of
fatalities was 35, and 30 were injured.
