Amman, Sep. 29 (Petra) – A total of 39,200 individuals registered to
perform the Hajj pilgrimage via the electronic Hajj portal for the
current season, according to a statement released by the Ministry of
Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites.
Preliminary registration for Jordanians and Gaza Strip residents
living in the Kingdom wishing to perform Hajj began on September 6
and ended last Sunday.
Under registration requirements, the primary applicant must have been
born on or before December 31, 1980, and must not have previously
performed the pilgrimage.
The ministry said Jordan’s quota for the current Hajj season stands
at 8,000 pilgrims.
