Doha, September 29 (QNA) – The 3rd round of the Sports For All (SFA) Summer Sizzler 2026 has drawn the participation of 1,089 male and female runners at the Aspire Indoor Track.

Organized by the Qatar Sports For All Federation (QSFA), operating under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the event was held in a vibrant sporting and family atmosphere marked by enthusiasm and challenge.

This reflected the growing interest in sports and provided participants with an opportunity to be part of the event in a family-oriented atmosphere.

The general race began at 3 pm and continued for two hours, featuring 571 male and female runners of various age groups.

As for the women’s race, it ran from 5 pm to 7 pm, and attracted 518 runners.

Runners aged over 17 took part in the 30-minute and 15-minute races, while youngsters aged 7 to 17 competed in a 10-minute running challenge. Meanwhile children aged 3 to 6 participated in a five-minute race.

QSFA Executive Director Abdullah Al Dosari said the strong family turnout gave the 3rd round a distinctive atmosphere, noting that parents’ participation contributed to encouraging children and youngsters to take on the challenge and promoting physical activity as a daily habit.

Having an array of age groups participating in the races gave children the opportunity to gain new sporting experiences and encouraged them to get involved and be part of the challenge, Al Dosari added.

The SFA Summer Sizzler 2026 is part of QSFA’s “Sports for All Summer Program 2026”, which features a wide range of sporting and recreational events and activities targeting various segments of society.

The Program’s 1st phase saw 36,100 male and female participants take part.

The SFA Summer Sizzler 2026 will conclude Friday with a 4th and final round, ahead of the launch of a new edition of the SFA Fall Edition 2026 next month. (QNA)
