Manila, August 06 (QNA) – An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale struck an area approximately 32 kilometers southwest of Sarangani in the Philippines.
The US Geological Survey reported that the earthquake’s epicenter was at a depth of 10 kilometers.
There have been no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
A 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the southern Philippines on June 8, killing 65 people, leaving 35 missing, and displacing thousands.
The Philippines experiences increasing volcanic and seismic activity due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire, where tectonic plates meet. (QNA)
