Al-Burhan Vows to Defeat RSF militia, Prevent Repeat of “Painful Ordeal”

Shambat, July 24, 2026 (SUNA) – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, has vowed to defeat the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and ensure that the country never experiences a similar ordeal again.  Al-Burhan said the RSF militia and those who supported and backed it would have “no future” after the conflict, stressing that justice for the blood of the Sudanese people and the restoration of their rights remain a duty that will not be compromised. The remarks came after the Friday prayer at Al-Hadrab Mosque in the Shambat area of Khartoum North (Bahri). Speaking after the prayer, Al-Burhan paid tribute to the country’s martyred soldiers and civilians, offering prayers for the souls of those who sacrificed their lives for Sudan’s dignity, sovereignty, and honour. He commended the residents of Shambat for their steadfastness and sincere support for the Sudanese Armed Forces, praising the area’s longstanding role in promoting education and knowledge, fostering social solidarity, assisting those in need, and serving the Muslim community. Al-Burhan reiterated that the Sudanese people are the country’s true source of strength and the firm foundation for safeguarding its national institutions. He also commended the heartfelt supplications of sheikhs and religious leaders, who continue to pray for Sudan’s purification and deliverance from all those seeking to undermine the country and its sovereignty. TSC President called for unity and solidarity among all segments of society to overcome the country’s current challenges and confront external threats targeting Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and stability.BH/BH
