Doha, July 11 (QNA) – Al Rayyan have signed defender Daouda Diakite from Al Shahaniya on a five-year contract, the club announced on Saturday.
In a statement posted on its official social media accounts, Al Rayyan said the 22-year-old will remain with the club through the summer of 2031, welcoming the player and wishing him success.
Diakite emerged as one of the standout performers for Al Shahaniya last season, producing a series of impressive displays that made him one of the league’s most notable players during the 2025-26 campaign.
His move to Al Rayyan comes ahead of the start of the 2026-27 season, which the club will open against Iraq’s Duhok in the Gulf Club Super Cup on Aug. 13, a competition contested by the champions of the previous two editions.
Al Rayyan have begun preparations for the new season in Doha with fitness training before departing for a preseason training camp in Spain on July 15. The camp is scheduled to conclude on Aug. 5. (QNA)
