Amman, February 9 (Petra) – Amman Mayor Yousef Shawarbeh met with Sudanese Ambassador to Jordan Hassan Suwar Al-Dahab on Sunday to discuss enhancing cooperation between Amman and Khartoum State across various sectors.
During the meeting, Shawarbeh outlined the municipality’s plans and projects aimed at improving public services, emphasizing the strong ties between Jordan and Sudan. He reiterated Amman’s commitment to bolstering relations with Khartoum and providing support in municipal affairs, environmental initiatives, and information technology.
Ambassador Suwar Al-Dahab commended Amman’s advancements in municipal and cultural development, highlighting its efforts to upgrade infrastructure and establish itself as one of the world’s 100 resilient cities. He also affirmed Sudan’s willingness to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise for mutual benefit.
Amman and Khartoum have maintained a charter of cooperation since 1993, facilitating knowledge-sharing in local administration, urban planning, environmental protection, agriculture, and municipal services.
