Amman, Feb. 16 (Petra) – A delegation from 11 Arab countries on Sunday toured Information Technology Directorate of Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) to learn about the municipality’s digital transformation policies and benefit from Jordanian expertise in this field.

The delegation comprised 30 participants from department heads and senior public employees in government sectors in Oman, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Mauritania, Egypt, Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, and Libya, according to a GAM statement.

The delegates were accompanied by the organizing team from the Netherlands, as part of a training program, led by the Hague Academy for Local Governance in the Netherlands.

The directorate’s Executive Director, Sultan Kharabsheh, said the GAM’s digital transformation efforts align with national strategies and Economic Modernization Vision.

In this context, he referred to His Majesty King Abdullah II’s directives, who places digital shift aa a top priority to enhance Jordan’s position as a “leading” country in the digital and technological field.

Meanwhile, Head of the Strategic Projects Department, Lana Adaileh, reviewed the GAM’s role in digital transformation and the importance of this drive in enhancing government services provided for citizens.
