Cairo, February 8 (Petra) — The Arab League’s Assistant Secretary-General, Ambassador Hossam Zaki, warned on Saturday against displacing Palestinians, describing it as a means of undermining the Palestinian cause.
Zaki reaffirmed the unity of the Arab stance and expressed strong support for the Palestinians, Jordan and Egypt in their rejection of displacement efforts.
In a televised interview, Zaki reiterated the Arab League’s position of firmly opposing displacement and emphasised the organisation’s ongoing efforts to mobilise Arab and international support for establishing a Palestinian state.
He confirmed that the Arab League is actively working to counter Israel’s claims and reaffirm the principle of the two-state solution.
Ambassador Zaki said discussions are ongoing to convene an Arab summit to address the Palestinian issue. The date for the summit has yet to be determined.
