Cairo, June 28 (Petra) — Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul
Gheit strongly condemned what he described as Iran’s continued
attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait using missiles and drones, calling them
a flagrant violation of the two countries’ sovereignty, international
law and the UN Charter.

According to a statement, Aboul Gheit called for an immediate halt to
all Iranian military actions targeting the Gulf states, saying they
threaten regional security and stability. He held Iran fully
responsible for what he described as unlawful actions that undermine
regional and international diplomatic efforts to achieve peace in the
region.

Arab League spokesperson Gamal Roshdy said Aboul Gheit reaffirmed the
League’s support and solidarity with the leadership and people of
Bahrain and Kuwait, backing measures taken by both countries to halt
the attacks. He also urged the parties concerned to de-escalate
tensions and support efforts aimed at achieving a sustainable
ceasefire.

Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi also strongly
condemned the attacks targeting Bahrain and Kuwait, describing them
as a blatant violation of state sovereignty, international law and
the UN Charter, as well as a direct threat to regional security and
stability.

Al Yamahi said the attacks represented an unacceptable escalation and
a threat to the security and stability of Arab states. He stressed
the need to uphold international law, respect state sovereignty and
prevent further escalation in the region.

He also reaffirmed the Arab Parliament’s categorical rejection of any
attack or threat against Arab states or their territorial integrity,
stressing that the security of the Gulf states is a fundamental
pillar of Arab national security and requires a unified Arab position
to confront any threats.
