Cairo, Feb. 2 (Petra) – Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit called for increased Arab efforts to develop legislative frameworks that safeguard individual rights against the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Aboul Gheit made these remarks during the opening of the Arab Dialogue Circle on “Artificial Intelligence in the Arab World: Innovative Applications and Ethical Challenges” on Sunday at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.
He emphasized that cooperation and integration among all institutions at all levels is crucial for preserving human and ethical values in Arab societies and protecting the Arab identity. He also urged global collaboration to incorporate AI within a multilateral framework rather than leaving it to global competitive forces.
