Cairo, Feb 9 (Petra) — Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit on Sunday condemned “in the strongest terms” an Israeli statement calling for the transfer of Palestinians to Saudi Arabia.
“Such statements reflect a complete detachment from reality,” he said, expressing his total rejection of the proposal and reiterating that a Palestinian state will only be established on the land of Palestine that was occupied in 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, i.e. in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, without separation.
“Any other ideas are only wishful thinking or illusions that only exist in the minds of those who utter them,” he said.
