Following his discussions with Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, the Sierra Leonean top diplomat highlighted the practical implementation of multiple agreements already signed between the two countries.

“We have seen the practical implementation of these agreements after the meeting of the Joint Economic Commission held in Dakhla on January 15, 2021,” he applauded, underscoring his country’s commitment to increasing investment and trade.

Kabba also expressed gratitude to Morocco for its support in several sectors in Sierra Leone. In this regard, he mentioned the Kingdom’s assistance in various areas (agriculture, religious field, etc.).

Regarding the issue of the Moroccan Sahara, the Sierra Leonean minister reiterated his country’s full support for the Moroccan autonomy plan, which remains the only “credible, serious, and realistic solution” to this dispute, expressing support for the process led by the United Nations to achieve a realistic, practical, and sustainable settlement.

Furthermore, he recalled his country’s “firm support” for Morocco’s territorial integrity, as evidenced by Sierra Leone’s opening of a consulate in Dakhla in 2021 and its participation in the Ministerial Conference in support of the autonomy initiative under Moroccan sovereignty at the invitation of the Kingdom and the United States of America.
