Baku, July 08 (QNA) – Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met today with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi, who is currently visiting Azerbaijan, to discuss regional developments.
The two ministers stressed the importance of supporting efforts aimed at ending the escalation and achieving security and stability in the region.
They also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
Safadi reaffirmed Jordan’s rejection of any attacks targeting the country or its fellow GCC states. He also stressed the need to reach a solution based on respect for international law and state sovereignty that addresses all the causes of tension over recent years and ensures freedom of navigation and safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
He also emphasized the need for the full implementation of US President Donald Trump’s plan to stabilize Gaza Strip and ensure the unhindered entry of humanitarian aid into the territory. He said this would help promote stability and pave the way for a better future based on peace and respect for human rights and international law, rather than the continued violation of the Palestinian people’s right to live in security and dignity.
