Bahrain condemns Iranian drone attacks on Gulf state

Amman, June 27 (Petra) – Bahrain on Saturday condemned as a flagrant
aggression Iranian drone attacks on the Gulf Arab state.

“The attacks are a flagrant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, a
blatant threat to the security of Bahrain’s citizens and residents,
and a gross breach of international norms and conventions that
prohibit targeting civilian objects and terrorizing innocent
civilians,” Bahraini Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“The Iranian regime continued attacks at a time when regional and
international efforts are focused on de-escalation, which lays the
sole responsibility on Tehran for undermining peace efforts, and
reveals an approach bent on destabilizing security, exporting chaos,
and undermining regional stability,” the Ministry said.

It said Bahrain “reserves its full legitimate right” to defend its
sovereignty, security, and stability in accordance with international
law, and called on the UN Security Council to shoulder its
responsibility to ensure the implementation of its resolution and
hold “the aggressor” accountable.
