Amman, Feb 9 (Petra) — Bahrain on Sunday strongly condemned as “irresponsible” an Israeli proposal to establish a Palestinian state in Saudi Arabia, calling it a flagrant violation of the international law and the United Nations Charter.
Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry stressed in a press release, published by the official Bahrain News Agency, the gulf Arab state’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support of its security, stability and sovereignty.
It reiterated that a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East hinges on safeguarding the rights of the Palestinian people, not evicting them from their lands, and setting up an independent and fully sovereign Palestinian state, which allows for peaceful coexistence in accordance with international resolutions and the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative.
