Cairo, July 07 (QNA) – The Arab Republic of Egypt voiced its condemnation of Iran’s targeting of a Qatari tanker while crossing the Strait of Hormuz, considering that this constitutes a violation of international law and a threat to the security and safety of international navigation, and exposes the security of global energy supplies to serious risks.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed Egypt’s complete rejection of all actions that threaten the security and stability of the region or endanger freedom of navigation in international waterways.
The ministry also affirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with the State of Qatar, calling for adherence to the rules of international law and an end to any practices that would escalate tensions in the region. (QNA)
