Doha, June 09 (QNA) – The Qatar Football Association (QFA) concluded the FIFA Seminar on the Amateur Football Environment, with participation from representatives of various sports and educational institutions.

The seminar featured presentations by FIFA consultant Belhassen Mellouch and FIFA sport analyst Amr Moheb, who discussed FIFA’s global amateur football report, the Qatar Football Association’s amateur football report, and key findings related to the current landscape of the game and opportunities for its development.

Mellouch highlighted that amateur football forms the foundation of the football pyramid, noting that FIFA’s analysis project has been running for nearly three years to help national associations develop evidence-based programs.

Moheb said the Qatar Football Association was among the first federations to participate in FIFA’s Amateur Football Environment Analysis Project, launched in 2022 across 211 member associations worldwide.

For his part, QFA’s strategic planning consultant Mohammed Abdulrahman Al Hashmi said the seminar reflects growing interest in amateur football and noted that Qatar has strong infrastructure and technical capabilities to further develop the sector.

He added that the QFA will work with relevant stakeholders to expand participation and strengthen amateur football programs, pointing out that Qatar has seen the establishment of 45 football academies over the past three years.

Participants discussed the findings of the analysis of Qatar’s amateur football environment and ways to enhance cooperation among stakeholders to broaden participation and support future development initiatives. (QNA)
