From Baku… house 2nd deputy speaker hails King’s efforts in defending Palestinian cause

Amman, Feb 19 (Petra) – The Second Deputy Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament, Ahmad Hmeisat, emphasized that His Majesty King Abdullah II continues to make tremendous efforts in defending the Palestinian cause.

Speaking at the 15th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) in Baku, Azerbaijan, on Wednesday, Hmeisat highlighted that His Majesty’s meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump was pivotal in firmly rejecting all attempts of forced displacement against the Palestinian people.

He reaffirmed that under King Abdullah II’s leadership, Jordan consistently asserts in all international forums that its stance aligns with its national interests, which are inherently linked to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on its own land, where Palestinians can live in security and stability.

Hmeisat called for the adoption and support of His Majesty’s positions, which aim to resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict, revive dialogue, and restore rightful ownership to the Palestinian people, ultimately contributing to peace and stability in the region and the Middle East.

He also stressed that Jordan will never abandon its humanitarian and moral responsibilities, in addition to its diplomatic role. The Kingdom has always been at the forefront of nations extending aid and assistance, as demonstrated by the air and land bridges that delivered humanitarian support. These efforts, personally led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, HRH Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, and HRH Princess Salma bint Abdullah II, reflect the deep compassion and solidarity of the Jordanian people.
