Amman, Feb. 18 (Petra) – Jordan’s Food Security Council (FSC) and Jordanian-Palestinian Agricultural Products Marketing Company (JPACO) on Tuesday signed an agreement to provide technical support to the company.
FSC’s Chairman and Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Hneifat, and JPACO’s General Manager, Dr. Abdul Halim Dougan, signed the agreement.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Hneifat stressed the importance of helping small farmers and developing marketing mechanisms to support and develop promotion-based paths for rural and agricultural products.
The agreement comes within the framework of enhancing access of Jordanian small farmers’ products to local and regional markets and providing them with the “necessary” logistical and marketing services.
On its other goals, the cooperation also aims to develop value chains, improve quality of agricultural products, and enable farmers to obtain “fair” prices.
