George Wassouf performs to packed audience at Jerash Festival

Jerash, July 25 (Petra) — Syrian-Lebanese singer George Wassouf
performed to a packed audience on Saturday evening at the South
Theatre as part of the 40th Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts.

Opening the concert, which was attended by Minister of Culture and
chairman of the festival’s Higher Committee Mustafa Rawashdeh,
Ministry of Culture Secretary-General Nidal Al-Ayasrah, and festival
director Yazan Khudair, Wassouf told the audience that the Jerash
Festival holds a special place in his artistic career. He expressed
his appreciation for Jordan and the warm reception he has received
from its audiences, wishing the kingdom continued security and peace
under its Hashemite leadership.

During the concert, Wassouf performed a selection of his best-known
songs, including Ya Bayaeen El-Hawa, Ya Leil Al-Asheqeen, Bet’atibni
Ala Kelmah, Qadduka Al-Mayyas, Tabib Jarrah, Saber wa Radi, Qalb
Al-Asheq Daliluh and Kalam El-Nas, along with several other popular
hits from his repertoire.
