German Chamber of Crafts Delegation Explores Vocational Training Opportunities in Jordan

Amman, Feb. 10 (Petra) — A delegation from the German Chamber of Crafts visited the Vocational Training Corporation (VTC) as part of ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation in vocational education and labor migration.

The visit falls under the “Partnerships for Development in Vocational Training and Labor Migration” project, implemented by German International Cooperation (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, in collaboration with the Jordanian Ministry of Labor, VTC, and the German Confederation of Skilled Crafts.

According to a VTC statement on Monday, the project aims to train Jordanian youth in Germany’s dual vocational training system, focusing on in-demand trades recently incorporated into the executive program of Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision.

During the visit, VTC Director-General Ahmad Mufleh Al-Gharaibeh highlighted the training needs of Jordanian trainees and detailed the various stages of training conducted in partnership with Germany. He explained that applicants undergo assessments to determine their vocational interests, ensuring they acquire the language and technical skills required for Germany’s dual training model.

Al-Gharaibeh emphasized that the visit offers trainees a unique opportunity to engage directly with German experts, gain insights into vocational training in Germany, and showcase their skills for potential employment in the German labor market.

The delegation’s visit also includes orientation sessions on Germany’s dual training system and living conditions, tailored for participants in the intermediate track at institutes where the project is being implemented. These sessions aim to prepare trainees for interviews with German companies. Additionally, an informational session will be held for candidates interested in the fast-track program.

The initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen collaboration between VTC and the German Chamber of Crafts, expanding vocational training opportunities for Jordanian youth and facilitating their integration into the German labor market.
