Amman, July 29 (Petra) — A hot air mass is expected to affect the
Kingdom from Friday, bringing a noticeable rise in temperatures and
hot conditions across most regions after several days of typical
summer weather, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

Seasonal summer conditions will prevail on Wednesday, with mild
weather across the highlands and plains, while hot to very hot
conditions continue in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and
Aqaba. Moderate northwesterly winds are forecast to become active at
times, particularly in desert areas.

Temperatures are expected to edge higher on Thursday, bringing
relatively hot conditions to most regions, while very hot weather
persists in the Badia and the low-lying areas. Winds will shift
between northeasterly and northwesterly directions at moderate
speeds, becoming more active during the evening.

A more pronounced increase in temperatures is forecast on Friday as
the hot air mass moves into the Kingdom. Hot weather is expected
across most regions, while very hot conditions will prevail in the
Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Moderate
northeasterly to northwesterly winds are expected to become active at
intervals.

The hot weather pattern is forecast to continue into Saturday, with
elevated temperatures persisting across much of the country. Very hot
conditions will remain concentrated in the Badia and the Jordan
Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, accompanied by moderate northwesterly
winds that may strengthen at times.

Wednesday’s temperatures are forecast to reach 35 degrees Celsius in
East Amman and 32 C in West Amman. Highs are expected to reach 31 C
in the northern highlands and 32 C in the Sharah highlands, while the
plains are forecast to record 35 C.

The highest temperatures will be recorded in the country’s desert and
low-lying regions, with forecasts pointing to 40 C in the Badia, 42 C
in the northern Jordan Valley, 43 C in both the southern Jordan
Valley and the Dead Sea, and 41 C in Aqaba.
