Amman, Feb. 11 (Petra) – Speaker of the Lower House of the Parliament Ahmad Safadi met with Dutch Ambassador Harry Verweij on Tuesday to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between Jordan and the Netherlands, particularly in parliamentary affairs.
Safadi reiterated Jordan’s firm stance, under the leadership of His majesty King Abdullah II, in rejecting any plans to forcibly displace Palestinians. He stressed that the kingdom would not accept any solution at its expense.
He also outlined Jordan’s ongoing political, economic, and administrative modernization efforts, initiated under royal directives, emphasizing the country’s commitment to strengthening the role of women and youth in leadership positions.
For his part, Ambassador Verweij commended Jordan’s key role in promoting regional security and stability, as well as its efforts in hosting refugees. He reaffirmed the Netherlands’ continued support for the kingdom and its opposition to any forced displacement of Gaza residents.
