Amman, February 11 (Petra) — House Speaker Ahmed Safadi met Tuesday with ambassadors of Tunisia and Türkiye, reaffirming Jordan’s steadfast position in rejecting displacement and advocating for establishing a Palestinian state on Palestinian territory.

During a meeting with Tunisian Ambassador Mufida Zribi, Safadi emphasised Jordan’s “strong” ties with Tunisia, highlighting the continuous coordination between His Majesty King Abdullah II and Tunisian President Kais Saied. He noted that both countries share common stances on several key issues, especially the “dangers” facing the Palestinian cause.

In light of proposals to relocate Palestinians from Gaza to Jordan and Egypt, Safadi reiterated Jordan’s clear position: “We will not accept any solution at the expense of Jordan.”

Safadi expressed appreciation for Tunisia’s firm stance against the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza and called for further cooperation and coordination with the Tunisian House of Representatives to unify efforts in support of both nations’ shared interests.

Zribi affirmed Tunisia’s rejection of any calls to displace Gaza’s residents, expressing her country’s support for Jordan and the position expressed by His Majesty King Abdullah II.

In a separate meeting with Turkish Ambassador Yakub Cayamazoglu, Safadi reiterated Jordan’s “unwavering” stance against displacement and emphasised the importance of entrenching the in Gaza.

He highlighted the close relationship between His Majesty King Abdullah II and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, noting both nations’ ongoing challenges regarding the Palestinian issue and the “critical” need for continued coordination and consultation.

Cayamazoglu, in turn, reaffirmed Türkiye’s support for the Palestinian cause and its rejection of displacement proposals.

He called for strengthening parliamentary coordination between Jordan and Türkiye to serve the interests of both peoples and countries.
