Industry Support Fund allocates €35 million to boost SMEs

Irbid, July 8 (Petra) – The Industry Support and Development Fund has
allocated €35 million to its “Leadership in Industry” programme to
support small and medium-sized industrial enterprises and strengthen
the sector’s competitiveness across the Kingdom.

Speaking at an introductory session at the Irbid Chamber of Industry
on Tuesday, Fund Director Mamoun Abu Shawar said the first phase will
target 150 industrial establishments, followed by 120 more in the
second phase, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 270.

Funded by the German Development Bank (KfW), the programme will
finance up to 70 per cent of project costs, with grants ranging from
JD25,000 to JD100,000.

Abu Shawar said 40 per cent of the funding will be allocated to
projects in the governorates, with the initiative aimed at promoting
innovation, sustainable growth and job creation, particularly for
women.

He added that applications will be submitted electronically, with
technical support and training provided to help companies complete
the application process.
