Khartoum, July 25 (SUNA) – Minister of Interior Lt. Gen. (Police) Babiker Samra Mustafa chaired the 11th meeting of the Committee for Enhancing Security and Enforcing State Authority in Khartoum State, with the participation of all committee members from security and military formations.The meeting reviewed reports from specialised committees on their performance during the previous period and affirmed the continuation of security plans aimed at strengthening stability and enforcing state authority across Khartoum State.The Media Committee Chairman, Brig. Police Fath Al-Rahman Mohamed Al-Tom, said the Chairman of the Committee for Evacuating Khartoum State of Military Formations, Lt. Gen. Abdelkhair Abdullah Nasser, had outlined measures to strengthen coordination between joint forces and other regular forces to restrict the movement of military personnel within Khartoum State. He added that military police units had been deployed at entrances, crossings and bridges to address violations committed by members of military formations.The Central Operations Room Committee Chairman, Lt. Gen. (Police) Dr. Siraj Al-Din Mansour Khalid, said security and criminal conditions in Khartoum remained stable. He noted that security patrols and cordons conducted across several localities resulted in the opening of 4,792 criminal cases and the arrest of 2,820 suspects, against whom legal procedures were taken.He added that the committee participated in campaigns to remove illegal settlements, secure sites after removal operations, protect setbacks, and install surveillance cameras at several locations. He also noted that emergency police services continue to receive citizens’ reports through the toll-free number 999.Regarding vehicles, he said the Vehicle Recovery Committee had collected 15,728 vehicles from different localities, urging citizens who lost vehicles to contact the committee to retrieve them free of charge through the relevant prosecution offices and traffic directorate.The Illegal Settlement Removal Committee reported carrying out more than 4,600 removals of illegal sites, while issuing 15,561 warnings. The committee continues its operations across Khartoum State.The Committee for Evacuating Foreigners and Refugees from Khartoum State carried out four campaigns, resulting in the detention and deportation of 178 foreigners to their countries, in addition to 165 others who were processed and returned according to established procedures.The committee responsible for upgrading traffic signs continues to assess the state’s needs for road and guidance signs and has begun replacing them to improve the traffic environment and enhance the appearance of the capital.The Media Committee Chairman affirmed that the committee would continue publishing updates on the work and achievements of the various committees, while countering rumours targeting citizens’ security and spreading accurate information from authorised official sources.BH/BH
