Baghdad, April 09 (QNA) – Iraq and Egypt have warned of the dangers posed by the ongoing escalation in Lebanon, stressing the need for coordinated regional action to contain the crisis.

The position was expressed during talks in Baghdad between Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty.

According to a statement from the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, the two sides discussed strengthening bilateral relations and coordinating positions on key regional issues, particularly the situation in Lebanon.

Both ministers emphasized the importance of activating the role of the Arab League in addressing the crisis, with the aim of restoring regional stability and reinforcing respect for international law.

The Iraqi foreign minister stressed the need for broad and coordinated international action to reach understandings that could help consolidate stability in the region.

For his part, the Egyptian foreign minister described the past period as highly complex and challenging, highlighting Egypt’s engagement in regional and international frameworks.

He also referred to coordinated efforts involving Pakistan aimed at achieving ceasefires and promoting de-escalation. (QNA)
