Beirut, March 23 (Petra) – The area surrounding the headquarters of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in the border town of Naqoura came under artillery fire from Israeli positions across the border on Sunday afternoon, a Lebanese security source said. No injuries were reported.
The source told Petra’s correspondent in Beirut that the same location had also been shelled the previous day.
He added that Israeli warplanes carried out intensive flights over the eastern sector of southern Lebanon.
The source further said that Israeli airstrikes resumed around the Qasmiyeh Bridge, targeting a key water crossing that had already been hit twice the day before.
The crossing serves as a vital link between communities on both sides of the Litani River and nearby towns.
