Aqaba, Feb. 5 (Petra) -In its first visit to the Gulf of Aqaba, the Italian ship “Amerigo Vespucci” on Wednesday docked at the Aqaba Cruise Terminal on an “exceptional” trip, which is set to visit over 30 ports in 28 countries across 5 continents.
The Italian Navy ship will spend 3 days in Aqaba, which is a “historical” training facility and an ambassador for UNESCO, UNICEF and Italy.
The vessel offers traditional training for naval officer students, aimed to promoting Italian excellence in the cultural, artistic, historical and economic fields.
Thursday morning, an official reception ceremony will begin on the occasion, followed by a press conference headed by the Italian Ambassador, Luciano Pizzuti.
The vessel will open its doors to visitors and residents of Aqaba on Friday over two periods.
