Amman, July 26 (Petra) – The Jordanian Nursing Council (JNC) and
UNRWA launched the fourth cohort of their primary healthcare and
reproductive health program.

The six-month program, funded by the Japanese government, brings
together 81 nursing and midwifery staff across UNRWA’s five fields of
operation: Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, the West Bank (including East
Jerusalem), and the Gaza Strip.

The initiative aims to bolster professional skills and ensure
healthcare delivery meets international standards. It uses
evidence-based e-learning and patient safety practices.

The JNC’s e-learning platform manages academic supervision and
curriculum development, offering competency-based training that
allows healthcare workers to complete coursework alongside their
daily duties.

JNC Secretary-General Hani Nawafleh stated that the partnership shows
international confidence in the council’s expertise. He noted that
the initiative aligns with the directives of Princess Muna
Al-Hussein, President of the JNC, on investing in nursing staff to
strengthen health systems.

With the completion of the third cohort, the training has graduated
137 healthcare professionals to date.
