Amman, July 26 (Petra) – Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs
Ayman Safadi and Canada’s Foreign Minister Anita Anand discussed
bilateral cooperation and pressing regional tensions.

In a telephone conversation on Sunday, the top diplomats pledged to
continue boosting ties between Amman and Ottawa across various
fields, as well as supporting efforts to establish lasting regional
stability.

Safadi and Anand called for adhering to the ceasefire between the US
and Iran, resuming negotiations toward a comprehensive solution that
addresses the root causes of tension and ensures freedom of
navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Turning to Gaza, Safadi called for lifting Israeli blockades on
humanitarian aid and fully implementing US President Donald Trump’s
plan for the strip, which continues to suffer a humanitarian
catastrophe.

He noted the deteriorating situation in the occupied West Bank,
warning that ongoing illegal Israeli measures solidify the occupation
and risk igniting further conflict.

He lauded Canada’s support for a two-state solution and its
commitment to achieving a “fair, lasting peace” in the Middle East.
