Amman, Aug. 30 (Petra) — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj.
Gen. Yousef Huneiti received Lebanese Army Commander Gen. Rodolphe
Haykal and his accompanying delegation Sunday at the General Command,
as the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening defense
and military ties between Jordan and Lebanon.

The two commanders held talks on prospects for military cooperation
and coordination and ways to advance the partnership between the
armed forces of the two countries.

Huneiti and Haykal also reviewed the latest regional and
international developments and discussed issues of shared concern,
stressing the importance of continued coordination and consultation
to serve mutual interests and support security and stability in the
region.

Huneiti highlighted the deep, historically rooted ties between Jordan
and Lebanon, underscoring the importance of building on existing
cooperation and expanding the partnership between the two countries’
armed forces in ways that bolster security, stability and defense
capabilities.

Haykal, for his part, praised the advanced level reached by the
Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army, citing its efficiency, competence
and professionalism. He commended its role in reinforcing security
and stability, its contributions to humanitarian and relief
operations, and its active engagement at the regional and
international levels.
