Amman, July 20 (Petra) – The Ministry of Justice on Monday discussed
with a Saudi judicial delegation strengthening judicial and legal
cooperation and exchanging expertise, particularly in digital
transformation and technical offices within courts.

Welcoming the delegation, headed by Saudi Deputy Minister of Justice
for Judicial Affairs Salman Al-Fawzan, Ministry of Justice
Secretary-General for Judicial Affairs Walid Kanakrieh highlighted
the longstanding relations between the two kingdoms and their shared
commitment to further enhancing cooperation in the judicial and legal
fields, developing their justice systems, and exchanging
institutional expertise.

Kanakrieh presented an overview of Jordan’s judicial system,
including the types and jurisdictions of courts, and the ministry’s
role in supporting the judiciary through logistical, technical,
administrative, and legislative services.

He also reviewed Jordan’s experience in applying alternatives to
custodial sentences, noting their role in rehabilitation and reducing
overcrowding in correctional and rehabilitation centers.

Justice Ministry Secretary-General for Administrative and Financial
Affairs Khuloud Abadi outlined the ministry’s digital transformation
efforts, including expansion of electronic services, adoption of
digital signatures, and the wider use of remote litigation in line
with public-sector modernization plans.
