Jordan, UAE urge implementation of US-Iran ceasefire deal

Amman, July 11 (Petra) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of
Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi made a phone call on
Saturday with United Arab Emirates Deputy Prime Minister and Minister
of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan on efforts to
end the escalation and achieve lasting calm in the Middle East.

Safadi and Sheikh Abdullah stressed the need to implement a ceasefire
agreement between the United States and Iran, and reach a
comprehensive solution to the crisis that addresses all the root
causes of the tension, guarantees freedom of navigation in the Strait
of Hormuz in accordance with international law, and achieves lasting
security and stability.

They reiterated the absolute solidarity between Jordan and the UAE to
confront Iranian aggression.

The ministers discussed a number of regional and international issues
of common interest as well as ways to further enhance bilateral
cooperation in various fields.
